Good Rape?

Ever heard of a good rape??? I thought there was no such thing! But apparently there is in a play called Vagina Monologues!! A 24 year old woman gets a 13 year old girl drunk and then "seduces" her. By a feminist point of view it is known as "Rape". But the little girl goes on to say that "if thats what rape is then it is a good rape". This is controversial because many feminists praise this play, it supports rape, lesbianism and attacks men. People argue why is it that feminists support this but when it comes to a man it is largely attacked? Rape is rape no matter what sex is the offender. But it is quite clear that some feminists do not believe this. Once again it shows that some feminists really are not fighting for equality but superiority. This article criticizes the Women's studies program because there should be no reason for them to praise rape because it was a female who was the violater. Rovert Swope a professor at Georgetown Univeristy called the Women's studies program as " another arm of the feminist movement that aims to transforming American college studies and universities into ideological indoctrinaton camps". Feminists fight for Superiority

I found a website that seems to disagree with feminism. The article argues that feminists claim they fight for equality but it seems like they fight for superiority. As well this article claims that This article claims feminists are covering up the hatred they have against men.. and that basically many feminists just spread the message of hatred. I liked this article only because the writer was bold enough to be aggressive against feminism. Usually people are careful with what they say because they do not want to offend feminists, since they protest if they are not happy with what you say or do. Now that I think about it feminits infringe the rights of freedom of speech and belief everyone is too scared to say anything because protests or law cases will happen. This website further analyises other parts in which its safe to say that feminists contradict themselves. It also talks about extremists who are sexist themselves and say things like " All men are rapists". This website supports lots of my ideas I had previously. If you'd like to know more in detail on what other people think. And if you like to read people's blunt opinions then go to this website! http://feministhate.tripod.com/id52.htm

Every theory has contradictions including Feminism

There this very interesting paper on a website on contradictions of feminism. Specifically contradictions concerning abortion and feminism. First the definition of feminism is provided, which is according to dictionary.com " belief in the social, political and economic quality of the sexes". She further states, " When a woman terminates a pregnancy, she is putting her child under treatment which is strickingly simliar to the way she was once treated, taking from it what is duly its own- respect, freedom of choice and life". Therefore what I feel that is arguing is if feminists know how it feels to be oppressed and do not have all the freedom in the world, why would they deprive their baby's rights? Women fight for equality but I think it is safe to argue that feminists have lost the essence of why they were battling and simply what to fight about what is convinient for them. If your're interested on contradictions and believe that women should not fight for rights of abortion then look up this paper. The link that directs you to this paper is http://elizabeth.hardy.id.au/abortion_feminist_contradiction.pdf .

Odd Feminists

There are many odd feminists throughout history. In a website that I found it talked about women in the past history. You can find out information on historical figures and famous quotes as well. I found a link where it would speak about controversial feminists and what they said that made them controversial. One that was a controversial voice of women was Jill Johnston. She was a columnist for the village voice from 1959-1978. She stated, "Until all women are lesbians there will be no true political revolution" Feminists represent equality and freedom from oppression. In this case it sounds like she wants women domination. Which means men will be oppressed. Another quote she said was "Feminists who still sleep with men are delivering their most vital energies to the oppressor'' It is a bit bizarre the things she said. I recommend this website if people like to see interesting quotes of historical figures. The website that provides this knowledge is http://womenshistory.about.com/od/quotes/a/jill_johnston.htm. It has many different feminists that have said or done controversial things.

Men are bullied now

Do you ever wonder why only fathers get ridiculed in commercials? Have you even ever noticed? For example, in an european commercial a father was dropping of his daughter to a concert. She wasn't dressed appropriately. A cop stoppped behind them and thought he was picking up a hooker. why is this allowed? Why aren't there commercials of possibly a mother picking up a hooker? It can be argued that it is because once a mother figure is being ridiculed then feminists stand up and protest against this. But why is it that only fathers can be made fun of and not mothers? Is that fair? The way I see it is if fathers can be made fun of so should mothers. I think feminists take it way too far sometimes. Commercials, in my opinion do not display things to show a political view or any sort of view. They display things just for fun and to attract people to their product. I think feminists need to calm down a bit because the majority of the advertisement world is scared to offend women and make them think that they are degrading them socially and as women. This reflects that feminists possibly want to be or think they are superior to men. And that is contradicting their historical disputes; that women want to be seen equal to men.

Discrimination within Feminism

What's interesting about feminism when you look at different prospectives is there is still ethnic inequality in feminism. I researched a sociologist who is feminist named bell hooks. (Yes she does spell her name this way with no capitals). She argues that feminists focus on white women and not black women. I thought to myself how could this be because when I hear about feminism I felt like all women can relate. But what she further speaks of made me realize that yes she does have a point. She argues that feminists regard the household as female oppression but she argues that for black women it can be a place of refuge. Since lots of black women suffer from racism outside of their homes when they are at home they feel safe and comfortable. Therefore feminists should consider not only gender equality but race equality between women as well. It's kind of weird how that happens even with feminists. You would think feminists would consider other factors beside gender since they experience inequality. But I guess no theory is totally perfect, every theory or at least many can have it's flaw.

Women before eleven are FREE

One thing I have noticed is how women get in for free at night clubs before eleven . In some cases there are "ladies night" where women get in for free no matter what time. Is this really fair? What is the message sent out to women and men? A feminist would say this is not right, they would see it as the night clubs saying that women are economically vulnerable. Or would they? The way I see it is if feminists were offended by this wouldn't their be rallies and protest against this? People could argue that feminists are acting as men and taking advantage of the system and violating the rights of men being seen as equal to women. Does this not contradict their focus on equality? That Women are equal to men not that women are superior to men.
